WHY ABLC?

Our club uses alternative systems of player development based on the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model and are re-imagining, re-designing and re-engineering the structure, approach, management, and content of curricular programs and activities of youth athlete development. This genre of programs embrace a long-term view and value high-touch environments that prioritize speed in play, functional movement solution, decision-making, and unimpeded risk-taking where fun, rather than criticism, is paramount. The intent is to reduce, if not eliminate, dis-proportionate and premature dis-engagement so that precision in identifying the true athletic potential is increased.  
Athlete development is a framework using six core values which bring out the full athletic potential in every player. When these values are embraced, players learn the sport better, love it more, and play it longer. Following the core values of athlete development keeps more players engaged in the sport longer and allows the best player to emerge as they reach physical maturity. These values are a fun and player-centered, small sided with free play, multi-sport participation, physical literacy, trained coaches,  age-appropriated, and are all inclusive.


The Apollo Beach Lacrosse Club will focus on teaching the sport of lacrosse to boys and girls from the ages of 3-14, with future expectations of growth and expansion to competitive youth teams. Players will be taught the correct mechanics on all lacrosse skills to enhance their development and move into small sided games and team strategies.

We believe this approach will enable our players to love the game of lacrosse and foster a sense of camaraderie among the players, parents, and coaches. We strive to cultivate a supportive community that enables players of all skill levels to thrive and achieve their full potential while building lifelong relationships.
